We have foundation! This happened on Thursday, and it’s a process that my husband has been very interested in, so he’s been going over there daily to micromanage check on things.
Trenching to form the concrete beams of the foundation
Moisture barrier, rebar and post tension cables. These cables will be tensioned up to 33,000 lbs in 7-10 days which will keep the foundation from cracking and shifting. Thanks, Ben, for that little tidbit 😉

A parade of cement trucks came on the street around 7am. Pumping started at 8:45am and took about 1.5 hours to pump the concrete.
Concrete setting up right before they remove the form boards that separate the garage and patio levels from the main house level.
At 5pm Braden is the first family member to walk on the slab. At 27 lbs, Braden weighs the least in our family, so Ben felt he wasn’t going to hurt anything. He loves playing there, and we hope that’ll be a trend we continue when there’s walls and other livable spaces. 🙂
More soon,
LL
